What we expect to publish
Specific work with a reason to exist.
First-person work
Essays grounded in lived experience that move beyond confession toward insight, meaning, or a useful question.
Reported and research-based work
Features, interviews, explainers, and commentary supported by credible sourcing and honest uncertainty.
Culture and creative work
Books, media, art, poetry, criticism, and original forms that deepen the publication’s editorial world.
Terms before submissions
Writers will know the agreement before they send the work.
- Writers will retain copyright unless a different written agreement is made for a specific project.
- Publication rights, exclusivity periods, editing practices, and archive terms will be stated plainly.
- Compensation will be disclosed with each call. Unpaid opportunities will never be presented as paid commissions.
- Conflicts of interest, sponsored relationships, and relevant financial ties must be disclosed.
- Submissions must follow the publication’s forthcoming AI-use policy. Fabricated quotations, sources, experiences, or reporting will not be accepted.
